Tiredness has become my new normal. This change in energy was more of a sudden drop than a gentle decline. Think cliff not hill. I have two theories about my unexpected fatigue, the first being that it’s simply part of the challenge. This tiredness is what makes the 75 hard a mental toughness program, having to push through workouts and keep to your diet while mentally and physically drained is (obviously) hard. It’s the core of what this program is, as it intentionally pushes you towards making decisions that you don’t want to make. Whether that's skipping a Sunday roast (sorry mum) or waking up at 5am to squeeze in your workouts before work.

My first thought when packing for my upcoming trip was what to wear? Especially on my feet. Anyone who has backpacked before (myself included) knows the treachery that comes with the combination of an overpacked bag and the unknown public transport of a new place. The outcome? Lots and lots of walking… which is why making sure the trainers you take are comfortable and durable is essential to surviving your travelling journey.

The 75 hard challenge is doing its annual trending rounds on TikTok as summer is here! However, is it worth it? And does it give you sustainable results? Fortunately for you and unfortunately for my unfit self, I will be taking on the challenge to find out.
Let's start with what the challenge is and who made it. The program was created in 2019 by Andy Frisella, stating on his website that “this is not a fitness challenge, 75 hard is a transformative mental toughness program”. It has since blown up on social media, especially on Tiktok, and the influx of before and after pictures has only catalysed its popularity due to their extreme contrasts.

Walking through Japan can be one of the most beautiful experiences. Whether you’re there for a walking holiday or to visit some of the most iconic sights, you will definitely get your steps in. I found that wearing the correct footwear made all the difference when being on your feet all day, which is why I brought my Green Steps ONE trainers.
